  1. Ingredients:
  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 1/2 cup dry Amla fruit
  • 2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter)
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped cilantro for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the basmati rice in cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for 30 minutes, then drain and set aside.

  2. In a saucepan, heat the ghee over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.

  3. Add the dry Amla fruit to the saucepan and sauté for a minute.

  4. Stir in the soaked basmati rice, turmeric powder, ground coriander, and salt. Mix well to coat the rice with the spices.

  5. Add 2 cups of water and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and let the rice cook for about 15-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and cooked.

  6. Once the rice is ready, fluff it with a fork and garnish with chopped cilantro. Serve the Amla rice as a delicious and flavorful side dish.
