Turmeric's anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties make it a valuable ingredient in healing recipes

  1. Ingredients:
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1-inch piece of fresh ginger root, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon honey (or more to taste)
  • Juice of half a lemon (optional)
  • A pinch of black pepper (to enhance curcumin absorption)

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, bring the water to a simmer over medium heat.

  2. Add the sliced turmeric and ginger to the water, and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.

  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the mixture steep for an additional 5 minutes.

  4. Strain the tea into mugs, discarding the turmeric and ginger pieces.

  5. Stir in honey and lemon juice, if using, and add a pinch of black pepper for better absorption of curcumin.

  6. Sip and enjoy this soothing and healing turmeric ginger tea.
