The ancient history of India depicts the Neem plant central to everyday life. Neem grows throughout India and has recently experienced a viral sensation bringing it into mainstream society. A new question arose, how to source the millions of gallons of Neem needed. GNFC (Gujarat Narmada Fertilizer and Chemical Company - a company Hookah1 is honored to support this great cause) launched The Neem Project, a socio-economic initiative that empowers families through the cultivation of neem seed. With over a quarter of billion Indians living in abject poverty (particularly dire in rural areas), GNFC was inspired to change the lives of the rural poor. GNFC chose the path of making a difference and helping hundreds of thousands of women. Through fair trade, entrepreneurship and empowerment, GNFC has given life changing opportunity. Hookah1 is honored to join in this mission and extend it through North America.
